The IEEE Region 1 main website is located at http://r1.ieee.org. This site uses WordPress, i.e., a Content Management System. It allows anyone involved with the IEEE Region 1Board of Governors to contribute to the site if they desire. Many committees and groups already have pages on the site, for example, PACE, WIE, and GOLD have pages setup with content on their committees or affinity groups and resources for those who might be interested.
Setting up a page is very easy. Once you have a username/password and a page setup, all you need to do is browse to “Pages” on the left-hand side of the Admin pages, and then click on your page. The graphic shows red circles on the Page admin and then the PACE page selection.
Once you have reach your page for editing, you can enter your content in HTML or Visual (similar to a document editor like Word, but simplified), and upload or insert files or pictures into the page. When you’d done with your edits, simply click “Update” on the right hand side and your page will automatically update on the website. You can view it after your have clicked “Update” so you are sure it’s what you wanted it to look like.
If you would like to setup a page on the website, or have any other questions on the website, please contact Adriaan J. van Wijngaarden at firstname.lastname@example.org.
