The Raspberry Pi, or How a $35 computer has Changed the World

September 9, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Raspberry Pi, or How a $35 computer has Changed the World. The Raspberry Pi has had a profound impact on many people around the world who have an interest in modern technology. It was first introduced in 2011 with an expectation of selling 10,000 units. Today, well over 5 million units have been sold. This probably makes it one of the most well known computers from a global perspective. However, more than that, it likely has introduced more young people to “real” computing than they are exposed to using the PC as an appliance. Don will talk about and demonstrate the recently introduced Raspberry Pi 3, model B. He will also demonstrate several projects from his latest book “Raspberry Pi Electronics Projects for the Evil Genius”. One of those projects will be a “super computer” made up of eight Raspberry Pi’s.
