K. P. Subbalakshmi — Biography
Dr. K. P. (Suba) Subbalakshmi is a Professor at Stevens Institute of Technology. Her research interests are in the areas of cognitive radio networks, wireless network security, media forensics as well as social networks. She serves as the Chair of the Security Special Interest Group of the IEEE Technical Committee on Cognitive Networks and has also served as the Vice-Chair North America region of IEEE Technical Committee on Cognitive Networks and Chair of the Security Special Interest Group of the IEEE Multimedia Technical Committee. She has given several keynote addresses, tutorials and been a panelist on her topics of interest. Suba is also the co-founder of two technology start-up companies, one based on the cognitive radio networks and the other based on deception detection. Spider Radio has been demonstrated to first responders as well as department of justice, FCC and other agencies. Her work on text analytics has been covered by media including ACM Tech News, The New Scientist, Mental Floss etc. Several hundred users from more than 25 countries have already accessed this software, which is available for demo at http://www.stevens.edu/deception
