ETEC Lab Tour – University at Albany

Join us for a guided tour of the state-of-the-art UAlbany ETEC facilities. ETEC is UAlbany’s largest Academic building on the Uptown Campus. It contains 40 labs, 200 full-time staff members and 100 research partners.

Agenda:
1) Science on a sphere: an 8-foot, interactive 3-D globe with limitless methods of visualizing geo-spatial data.

2) Atrium: UAlbany’s academic symbol, Minerva – The Roman goddess of wisdom overlook the informal collaboration space.

3)Emergency Operations Simulator: A real-world 911 call-taking station model using the real technology.

4) Collabortatorium and Ops Command Center: Vast open space for collaboration using novel technology

5) xCITE Lab: Industry leading software development and data/visualization analytics innovation facility

6) NYS Mesonet: A network of 126 weather stations collecting, archiving, and processing data in real time for weather precdiction models and support tooles.

7)Weather Map Room: An immersive and collaborative weather training environment.

8) Paleoclimate Lab: Labratory focused on the study of corals and lake sediment to inform cliamte change models.

9) i518 Innovation Center Incubator Space: Innovate 518 is a collaborative effort of incubators from New York’s Capital Region, including Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Warren, and Washington counties, managed by the University at Albany.
