Framework for Mentoring STEM Students in Project-Based Learning: Bringing Healthcare Topics from Industry to the Classroom

Discussion of how a grassroots effort to mentor pre-university STEM students on a project-based learning activity evolved into an organized mentorship program for healthcare technology topics. While mentoring is expected to benefit the mentees, the shared experiences also result in learning for mentors as well. Several years of mentoring experiences have culminated in the development of a framework for organizations to bring mentoring into the classroom by means of project-based learning.
