IEEE North Jersey Section PACE Meeting

August 9, 2017

6:30 pm to 9:00 pm

IEEE Engineers and Students:  Engineering jobs are leaving the area for other parts of the country and other countries.  Our PACE will begin a series of ENGINEERS MEETINGS to Increase Opportunities, and Jobs.  We will discuss what can be doen to brign Engineering jobs back to our area.  We have great Engineering Universities and great talent in NJ.  What can we do to bring the jobs back to NJ.  How shoudl we work with government adn industry to help our cause?  The discussing will also include the H-1B Visa.

About the Meeting.

Our guest speaker will be Peter Eckstein, the 2016 president of IEEE-USA, and a longtime supporter of American Engineers.  We are joining forces with the AEA and inviting Engineers from the other Engineering groups and disciplines to join us.  We would like your opinion.  This should be a great meeting.  ASME, AICHE, ASCE, etc Members are all invited.

About the Meeting:

We are bringing members of both the IEEE and the AEA together and inviting Members of the other groups, ASME, etc. to join us.  AEA already has a Position Paper addressing this issue. We will review the Paper at the meeting.

About the Speaker:  Our guest speaker will bePeter A. Eckstein our 2016 President of IEEE-USA.  Peter will address the H-1B issue and actions needed to rescind this detrimental legislation.

Welcome: Members and students from other IEEE Sections, professional societies and engineering disciplines are always welcome.

Refreshments:  will be served during a mid-meeting break.
