Integrating Hydrokinetic Power Systems Into Standalone Microgrids

Jarlath McEntee will present ORPC’s technology and integration of hydrokinetic technologies into stand alone microgrids. ORPC’s latest project features their RivGen Power System currently operating in the Kvichak River to provide renewable energy to the local tribal community in Igiugig, Alaska. The latest phase of this project occuring this year will be adding a second turbine unit, energy storage, grid power electronics, and microgrid controls to the existing microgrid.
