Mobile Phone Communications, Part 1

August 3, 2023 @ 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm

In this first of a two part series, “Signal Transmission & Reception Techniques” will examine the transmission and reception of cell phone information and how it has drastically changed with the introduction of 4G and evolved further with the implementation of 5G. It will be shown how the changes to the current bands and added spectrum in the lower frequency bands (FR1) and the upper frequency bands (FR2) give and will give the user a significantly improved communication experience.

In addition to added frequency spectrum, 5G deployment techniques will be examined that are still progressing to improve mobile communication, data through-put and signal availability. This lecture will show the evolution of communications to 5G and explain the technology that makes available enhanced mobile communications.
