The webinar will be moderated by Dr. Julia Upton, IEEE Maine Section Chair, and will include two presentations: Software Assurance and AI Education and Trustworthy Online Social Media, followed by Q&A.
Software Assurance and AI Education will be presented by Dr. Nancy R. Mead.
Dr. Mead is a Fellow of the Software Engineering Institute and Adjunct Professor of Software Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. Her research areas are security requirements engineering and software assurance curricula. The Nancy Mead Award for Excellence in Software Engineering Education & Training is named after her. She has over 200 publications and invited presentations. Awards are: IEEE, ACM Dr. Nancy R. Mead Distinguished Member, IEEE TCSE Fellow and Adjunct Professor, Distinguished Educator, IEEE TCSE Executive Software Engineering Institute and Board, Parnas Fellow at Lero, IEEE Carnegie Mellon University Distinguished Visitor. She holds a BA, MS, and PhD in mathematics from NYU.
Trustworthy Online Social Media will be presented by Dr. Yuhong Liu.
Dr. Liu is an Associate Professor at Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Santa Clara University, who received her Ph.D. degree from University of Rhode Island in 2012. Her research interests include trustworthy computing and cyber security of emerging applications, such as online social media, Internet-of-things and Blockchain. She is currently serving as an IEEE Computer Society Distinguished Visitor, Associate Editor of APSIPA Transactions on Signal and Information Processing, and an APSIPA Distinguished Lecturer.
