STIR SHAKEN – Framework for mitigating illegal caller ID spoofing

October 6, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Illegal Caller ID spoofing is a common tactic utilized by Robocallers. To combat this fraud, the telecommunications industry, led by ATIS and the SIP Forum, developed the SHAKEN (Secure Handling of Asserted information using toKENs) framework, based on IETF STIR (Secure Telephony Identity Revisited) standards. This webinar provides an overview of STIR/SHAKEN, including why it was developed, how it works, how voice service providers utilize STIR/SHAKEN in Robocall mitigation and future capability enhancements to the STIR/SHAKEN ecosystem.
