Welcome to the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Rochester Section! We are a vibrant community dedicated to promoting the recruitment, retention, and advancement of women in engineering and technology fields. Our mission is to inspire, engage, and empower women engineers and scientists, fostering an inclusive environment that supports professional growth and leadership.

The IEEE WIE Rochester Affinity Group was offically launched in April 2023 upon approval of a petition led by Deyasini Majumdar with the support of the IEEE Rochester Section Leadership. We are 25+ members strong and are growing.

Our Goals:

• Empowerment: Provide resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help women achieve their full potential in their careers.
• Inspiration: Encourage young girls and women to pursue careers in engineering and technology through outreach programs and educational initiatives.
• Community: Build a supportive network of professionals who advocate for diversity and inclusion within the engineering community.

What We Do:

• Events and Workshops: Host regular events, including technical workshops, leadership training, and networking sessions to enhance skills and career development.
• Mentorship Programs: Connect members with experienced professionals for guidance and support in their career journeys.
• Outreach Activities: Engage with local schools and universities to inspire the next generation of women engineers through talks, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
