The Invisible Threat of Modern Malware

From computer viruses to the advanced persistent threats, why are our own private networks becoming the most dangerous place to connect?

Cyber threats like Nimda Virus and Code Red have been impacting our organizations and productivity almost as long as we have been using computing devices. As time has marched on, connectivity has become more ubiquitous and with that, the treats have become far more advanced and unfortunately more destructive.

Modern malware hides itself in plain sight leveraging zero day capabilities and common TCP/IP protocols to hold organizations ransom for money and to steal our data. Protecting ourselves is far more complicated than it was in the past, as threats today go unnoticed by most common anti-malware prevention techniques and software.

In this presentation we will examine how threats today have evolved into a force that we must contend with. We will also examine how the ever increasing presence of connectivity and the cloud has made us more vulnerable, but if used properly, it can become one of our most effective defenses against it.

At the conclusion you will learn how to effectively combat modern malware by understanding its lifecycle and how to use a multi-faceted approach to win back control of your organization’s data.
