Measured System Point-spread Functions Enable Real-time Quantitative Imaging

June 22 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Bldg: Remote-Anywhere, Virtual, Virtual, New Jersey, United States, Bldg: Remote-Anywhere, Virtual, Virtual, New Jersey, United States + Google Map

Microwave and millimeter-wave chip transceivers and radars have become widely available and affordable in the last decade, spurring unprecedented growth in imaging, sensing, and detection applications. These applications define the current and future growth of wireless technology toward integrated communication and sensing services. We will briefly introduce the principles of real-time microwave/millimeter-wave imaging, which allows for “seeing” inside optically opaque objects. Through the concept of the system point-spread function, we will show how to calibrate an imaging system so that…

Linearization of RF Power Amplifiers connecting simulation and measurements on physical devices

June 22 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Bldg: Virtual , Virtual Technical Webinar Meeting, Virtual, New Jersey, United States, Bldg: Virtual , Virtual Technical Webinar Meeting, Virtual, New Jersey, United States + Google Map

This webinar is intended for engineers who design and test RF power amplifiers, concentrating on possible amplifier efficiency improvements by adopting dedicated topologies and linearization. We will be introducing the need for, and the benefits of, linearization and digital pre-distortion (DPD). By reference to a basic RF power amplifier and a Gallium Nitride (GaN) device, we will be discussing the advantages of combining simulation and real measurements to investigate memory polynomial DPD. You will learn how you can implement a…
