Mobile Devices – The Insider Threat To Cyber Security in Secure Facilities

Consumer mobile devices pose a potential security threat to all government, military and public spaces. As a result, “No Cell Phone” policies necessitate the latest in ferrous, cellular, Wi-Fi & Bluetooth detection and direction finding in order to effectively diminish the threat.  The devices we rely most upon (smartphones, tablets, etc.) have become the most dangerous and overlooked threat.  Intellectual Property and confidential information are at constant risk of being stolen.  This is because insiders have unique access to accounts on computer systems and are familiar with the organizations’ data storage and the safeguards that are already in place. This is also because typical users don’t employ the best security practices. This combination of negligence and insider access allows malicious data thieves to circumvent the security systems without the insider’s knowledge or consent.
