Protection And Control of Power Transformers

This seminar presents protection of power transformers. It details the reasons for transformer failures, cost of the failures, IEEE/IEC and CIGRE standards and guides on transformer protection. Specifically, it provides details on protection of transformers from internal faults, through faults and overexcitation conditions. Suggested settings for some of the protection functions are also discussed.

The seminar also covers transformer LTC control basics, voltage reduction, line drop compensation and transformer paralleling.

The seminar fee includes lunch, refreshments and handouts. Non-members joining IEEE within 30 days of the seminar will be rebated 50% of the IEEE registration charge.

Four hours of instruction will be provided. If desired, IEEE Continuing Education Units (0.4 CEUs) will be offered for this course – a small fee of $55 will be required for processing.
