From ENGINEERING ELECTROMAGNETICS to ELECTROMAGNETIC ENGINEERING: Teaching/Training Next Generations
This keynote lecture aims at a broad-brush look at certain teaching/training challenges that confront wave-oriented EM engineering in the 21st century, in a complex computer and technology-driven world with rapidly shifting societal and technical priorities. The lecture also discusses modeling and simulation strategies pertaining to complex EM problems and supplies several user-friendly virtual tools, most of which have been presented in the IEEE AP Magazine and which are very effective in teaching and training in lectures such as EM Wave Theory, Antennas, and Radiowave Propagation, EM Scattering and Diffraction, Guided Wave Theory, Microstrip Circuit Design, Radar Cross Section Prediction, Transmission Lines, Metamaterials, etcCo-sponsored by: IEEE North Jersey SectionSpeaker(s): Dr. Levent Sevgi, Agenda: Event Time: 6:00P M to 8:00 PMVenue: Kiernan Conference Room (ECE 202), ECEC, NJIT, NewarkTalk by Prof. Levent Sevgi, OKAN University, Engineering Faculty, Tuzla – İSTANBULSeminar in ECE 202 All Welcome: There is no fee/charge for attending IEEE technical seminar. New audio/video/wireless technologies for Home Entertainment – Part 1
On Thursday, November 18, 2021, the (https://www.TechnologyOnTap.org) will host Part 1 of a presentation on "New audio/video/wireless technologies for Home Entertainment". Please (https://www.technologyontap.org/event/new-audio-video-wireless-technologies-for-home-entertainment-part-1/) to receive a link to the meeting.About the TopicHDTV, UHDTV, HDR, HEVC, NextGenTV … what’s it all about? This two-part series will describe what these technologies are, and how to sift through all of it. Understand how audio and video devices in your home and in your hand can now deliver content in a near-reality fashion by both wired and wireless means.Part 1 will discuss new audio/video technologies, Part 2 will cover the new NextGenTV system for over-the-air content delivery.About the Speaker(https://www.linkedin.com/in/acugnini/) is well known in the Digital Television (DTV) industry, and has clients that include Philips, ONEMedia, and WNET-13. Prior to launching (https://www.agcsystems.tv/), he held various technical and management positions at Philips Electronics’ Research and Consumer Electronics Divisions, and at interactive television systems developer ACTV. While at Philips, Aldo had a leadership role in the development of the ATSC digital television system (and its progenitor, the “Grand Alliance” digital HDTV system), and was a key member of the Advanced Television Research Consortium (ATRC) HDTV development team.Agenda: IntroductionSpeaker presentationQuestionsNetworkingVirtual: https://events.vtools.ieee.org/m/287378
