This seminar presents protection of power transformers. It details the reasons for transformer failures, cost of the failures, IEEE/IEC and CIGRE standards and guides on transformer protection. Specifically, it provides details on protection of transformers from internal faults, through faults and overexcitation conditions. Suggested settings for some of the protection functions are also discussed.The seminar also covers transformer LTC control basics, voltage reduction, line drop compensation and transformer paralleling.Speaker(s): Dr. Murty Yalla, Agenda: The seminar fee includes lunch, refreshments and handouts.
