Advanced deembedding – accurate fixture modelling for precise VNA measurements of non-coaxial DUTs
Advanced deembedding – accurate fixture modelling for precise VNA measurements of non-coaxial DUTs
- This webinar is intended for engineers working on the design and testing of high-speed digital electronics. Before verifying a design, the VNA must be calibrated to make sure that only the DUT will be measured. When using coaxial adapters, the calibration can be carried out in a straightforward way. However, many DUTs such as those on printed circuit boards do not have coaxial adapters, necessitating using fixtures to adapt to the special connectors. S-parameter de-embedding can be used to accurately compensate fixture effects and lead-ins.Date: Wednesday, Oct 27Time: 2:00 PM (EDT)Duration: 1 hourFor login information and password, please register by clicking the online link: (https://s4cloudae36f1aac.hana.ondemand.com/data-buffer/sap/public/cuan/link/100/36EB0DAF4470B4D1AE5D47A96F4A46C09FD7CA9F?_V_=2&_K11_=6341055BBB0F804878B5027DAF401B53757F9FBD&_L54AD1F204_=c2NlbmFyaW89TUxDUEcmdGVuYW50PW15MzAyMDM5LnM0aGFuYS5vbmRlbWFuZC5jb20mdGFyZ2V0PWh0dHBzOi8vZXZlbnQub24yNC5jb20vd2NjL3IvMzM0ODg2NS9DREFCMzNDMjk1QkNGMEM2OUI0NDYxOUYwNkVFMTRCMD9wYXJ0bmVycmVmPW5hX200Y19f&_K13_=327&_K14_=251795b2f73c7fdfeccfc20b2d95816e4bcb2a6d24ac5ae2a3e676bfd18c9056)Co-sponsored by: IEEE North Jersey SectionSpeaker(s): Joern Pfeifer, Frank-Werner ThuemmlerAgenda: Title: Advanced de-embedding - accurate fixture modeling for precise VNA measurements of non-coaxial DUTsDate: Wednesday, Oct 27Time: 2:00 PM (EDT)Duration: 1 hourFor login information and password, please register by clicking the online link: (https://s4cloudae36f1aac.hana.ondemand.com/data-buffer/sap/public/cuan/link/100/36EB0DAF4470B4D1AE5D47A96F4A46C09FD7CA9F?_V_=2&_K11_=6341055BBB0F804878B5027DAF401B53757F9FBD&_L54AD1F204_=c2NlbmFyaW89TUxDUEcmdGVuYW50PW15MzAyMDM5LnM0aGFuYS5vbmRlbWFuZC5jb20mdGFyZ2V0PWh0dHBzOi8vZXZlbnQub24yNC5jb20vd2NjL3IvMzM0ODg2NS9DREFCMzNDMjk1QkNGMEM2OUI0NDYxOUYwNkVFMTRCMD9wYXJ0bmVycmVmPW5hX200Y19f&_K13_=327&_K14_=251795b2f73c7fdfeccfc20b2d95816e4bcb2a6d24ac5ae2a3e676bfd18c9056)Bldg: Virtual , Virtual Technical Webinar Meeting, Virtual, New Jersey, United States
Advancements on Additive Manufacturing of Wireless Electronics for Aviation and Space Environments
Advancements on Additive Manufacturing of Wireless Electronics for Aviation and Space Environments
- Additive manufacturing (AM) processes for electronics have evolved to produce high-performance high-frequency passive components when compared to traditionally manufactured counterparts. Furthermore, AM, combined with subtractive methods such as pulsed laser machining, enables novel 3D antenna and RF packaging geometries that offer advantages over the traditional planar designs. The transformative nature of AM in the RF and antenna engineering community is widely recognized for aviation and space applications, as it brings additional logistic advantages with the ability to print devices on a single machine, in the field, ad-hoc, with the ability of quick re-design and repair. This presentation discusses recent advancements on laser-enhanced AM to achieve 3D multilayer passives devices and sensors, with feature sizes down to 10 µm, compatible with space and aviation environments. As the fragility of the worldwide electronics supply change has become more apparent in recent years, a vision on how AM will advance society and human space exploration will be discussed.- (https://event.on24.com/wcc/r/3163892/64D7F7E38BFA0F10B0CE3F4BAE8B1F9D))Title: Advancements on Additive Manufacturing of Wireless Electronics for Aviation and Space EnvironmentsDuration: 1 hour, 2 minutesAvailable On DemandCo-sponsored by: IEEE North Jersey SectionSpeaker(s): Prof. Eduardo Rojas, Agenda: - (https://event.on24.com/wcc/r/3163892/64D7F7E38BFA0F10B0CE3F4BAE8B1F9D))Title: Advancements on Additive Manufacturing of Wireless Electronics for Aviation and Space EnvironmentsDuration: 1 hour, 2 minutesAvailable On-DemandBldg: Virtual , Virtual Technical Webinar Meeting, Virtual, New Jersey, United States
Distribution Voltage Regulation Seminar – Parts 7 & 8
Distribution Voltage Regulation Seminar – Parts 7 & 8
NOTICE - This session will be paid for by the North Jersey Section PES as a courtesy to our members and prospective members during these challenging times of COVID-19. There will be no charge for participation and Continuing Education Unit credits. This session is being offered as a GoToMeeting (details below). The seminar will cover:Distribution Voltage Regulation Series: Methods to Regulate the Voltage on the Distribution GridIntroduction: This is a 10 - session presentation meant to assist engineers in designing the proper voltage regulationarchitecture for the distribution grid. Each session takes approximately 45-50 minutes with a 10-15minute period at the end for questions. The presentations should prove beneficial to technicians andengineers responsible for distribution standards and design, distribution planning engineers, powerquality engineers as well as SCADA/ communications engineers. Below is a brief description of eachsession.Part 7) Voltage Reduction and Smart Voltage ReductionThis session covers voltage reduction schemes that have been in place for years mainly to allow foremergency conditions when demand is greater than the generation supply. Next newer conservationvoltage reductions schemes are covered that allow for a reduction in demand over longer periods oftime. It also looks at the use of line drop compensation as a way of implementing CVR and finallyaddresses how flipping the circuit provides for additional CVR improvements.Part 8) Advanced CoordinationThis session looks at flipping the circuit in greater detail by using advanced features in LTC/regulatorcontrols as well as capacitor controls. It covers using negative X and Var Bias as a way of coordinatingLTCs/Regulators with switched voltage controlled capacitor banks. It also looks at the auto-adaptivefeature of capacitor controls to maintain coordination even after FLISR, switching.Speaker(s): Bob McFetridge, Agenda: Two hours of instruction will be provided. This session is being offered as a GoToMeeting:https://global.gotomeeting.com/join/590321965You must register through VTools in advance in order to receive your CEU Certificate. PLEASE NOTE: Your certificate will go to the email address you use to register through VTools and will have your name exactly as you enter it when registering.
